François Asselineau ((:fʁɑ̃swa asəlino), born September 14, 1957 in Paris), is a French politician and an Inspector General for finances . Asselineau was a member of the Rally for France (RPF) and UMP〔http://www.leparisien.fr/paris/demission-remarquee-a-l-ump-03-10-2006-2007382302.php〕〔http://www.leparisien.fr/paris/ca-bouge-a-l-ump-31-12-2004-2005580066.php〕 before creating his own political party the Popular Republican Union (Union Populaire Républicaine or UPR). His movement promotes France's unilateral withdrawal from the European Union, the Eurozone and NATO.
